UCLA moves to 2-0 after defensive win over San Diego State

UCLA improved to 2-0 on the season with a 28-10 victory over San Diego State on Saturday. The Bruins relied on a defensive performance that kept the Aztecs scoreless through the first three quarters. While the UCLA offense struggled for efficiency early in the game, they eventually wore down the San Diego State defensive unit in the second half. San Diego State quarterback Jayden Denegal completed 6-of-17 passes for 45 yards, failing to connect on deep attempts. Linebackers Jalen Woods and Sammy Omosigho anchored the UCLA effort, combining for 14 tackles, a sack, and an interception. The Aztecs managed 144 rushing yards, but their only scoring came during the fourth quarter. Under new defensive coordinator Colin Hitschler, the Bruins have allowed a total of 17 points through their first two games.
