UCLA names two new team captains for San Diego State game

UCLA designated wide receiver Mikey Matthews and kicker Mateen Bhaghani as team captains for the upcoming Week 2 home game against the San Diego State Aztecs. They join permanent captains Nico Iamaleava and Sammy Omosigho for the matchup. Iamaleava enters the game off a Week 1 performance featuring 184 passing yards and one rushing touchdown. Omosigho recorded 14 tackles and one sack in his debut, while Matthews registered 88 receiving yards. Bhaghani contributed to the Bruins' previous scoring effort by converting his sole field goal attempt and all six point-after attempts. The Bruins enter the contest as 8.5-point favorites in their home opener.
