UConn and Virginia will play nonconference basketball at Madison Square Garden

The UConn men's basketball team will face Virginia at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Dec. 20. This matchup concludes the Huskies' nonconference schedule ahead of the start of Big East competition. The meeting marks the first regular season game between the two programs in nearly 30 years. UConn holds a 6-2 all-time record against the Cavaliers, having won their last five encounters dating back to 1965. This game is part of a demanding non-league slate for UConn that includes opponents such as Michigan, Ohio State, Arizona, Duke, Illinois, and Kansas. All of those opponents finished within the top-25 of the Kenpom rankings during the previous season.
