UConn pitcher Shaun Flannery Jr. receives top FCBL prospect honor

Wallingford native and incoming UConn pitcher Shaun Flannery Jr. was named the top pro pitching prospect in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League of New England. The announcement followed his performance with the Norwich Sea Unicorns, where he primarily served as the team's closer. During the regular season, the 6-foot-2 right-hander appeared in 17 games, finishing 15 of them while recording five saves, a 3-2 record, and a 3.00 ERA. He struck out 22 batters over 21 innings of work. Flannery later added a postseason appearance, throwing 4 ⅔ innings and allowing only one hit to secure a win. Prior to his time in the league, he was named the Founders League Player of the Year as a senior at Choate Rosemary Hall.
