Uefa has fined Red Star Belgrade 90,000 euros following instances of racist and discriminatory fan behavior during a match on 27 August. Supporters of the Serbian club chanted the name of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic and displayed banners in his honor during a 5-1 loss to Viktoria Plzeň. Mladic, a Bosnian Serb commander, died at age 84 while serving a life sentence for genocide. In addition to the fine, the club is prohibited from selling tickets to its supporters for the upcoming Conference League away match against Lugano. A second away ticket ban has been deferred for a two-year probationary period. Red Star Belgrade has previously faced disciplinary action from European football's governing body regarding the conduct of its fanbase.
