UF secures 3-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield for 2027 class

Florida football has added its first commitment for the 2027 recruiting class, securing a pledge from 3-star cornerback Kamauri Whitfield from Orlando on July 6. This addition marks the 25th commitment for the Gators in this class, which is currently ranked eighth nationally. Whitfield chose UF over offers from Oregon, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Arkansas and has a notable record in high school, posting 13 tackles and 3 pass breakups. First-year coach Jon Sumrall emphasizes the importance of finding recruits who fit the team's culture and work ethic.
