UFC Vegas 119 weigh-ins take place for Kape vs. Horiguchi 2

Flyweight competitor Kevin Borjas failed to make weight for his bout against Andre Lima, which is scheduled to close out Saturday’s preliminary lineup. Borjas weighed in at 129 pounds, three pounds over the limit for a non-title flyweight bout. It was later announced that Lima vs. Borjas will proceed at a catchweight, with Borjas forfeiting 20 percent of his purse as penalty. The UFC Vegas 119 flyweight headliners made weight without issue, as Horiguchi was first to step to the scale, making championship weight at 125 pounds. Kape made use of the one-pound allowance for a non-title fight, registering at 126. Horiguchi and Kape meet in a rematch nine years in the making. The two first fought at a RIZIN event in December 2017, when Horiguchi finished Kape with an arm-triangle choke submission in the third round. Now, they fight again with a UFC flyweight title shot potentially on the line. Other than Borjas, the other 23 fighters competing Saturday all successfully made weight.
