The DC Defenders have re-signed pass rusher Andre Mintze just before the 2026 UFL playoffs. Mintze returns after ranking third in the league for sacks in 2025, despite not playing during the regular season this spring. He played for the Denver Broncos in the NFL prior to his time with the Defenders, where he had a successful stint in the XFL. The Defenders will face the Orlando Storm in their playoff matchup on June 4, with the winner advancing to the United Bowl on June 13.
