Ugarte's World Cup performance could influence Manchester United's transfer strategy

Summary

Manchester United is looking to strengthen its midfield options under coach Michael Carrick ahead of the new season. The club has secured a deal with Atalanta for Ederson but seeks additional signings, possibly including Mateus Fernandes and others. Manuel Ugarte's future with United looks uncertain as he may be fourth choice in midfield. His potential departure could facilitate new signings, particularly if he performs well at the World Cup, which would boost his market value. The club expects to finalize Ugarte's situation soon, as interest from Turkish clubs exists but any sale may not recoup the initial £42 million investment from PSG.
