UIC and NIU conclude NCAA baseball regionals with elimination losses

Northern Illinois and Illinois-Chicago have ended their seasons in the NCAA baseball regionals. NIU, the No. 3 seed in the Tallahassee Regional, won its first NCAA tournament game by defeating Coastal Carolina 12-10 but later lost to Florida State 7-4 in 10 innings. UIC, seeded fourth in the Atlanta Regional, suffered a heavy 22-5 defeat to Georgia Tech and was eliminated by The Citadel 9-8 after a close extra-innings game. Both teams wrapped up their seasons this weekend.
