UL Lafayette proposes naming baseball complex after Tony Robichaux

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette has requested permission to name its baseball complex Tony Robichaux Park, honoring the late coach who holds the record for most wins in Louisiana collegiate baseball history. The proposal will be reviewed by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors. Additionally, Chris J. Russo has pledged over $1.7 million to support the naming of the stadium club for the Russo family and to establish the Friends of Tony Robichaux Fund. Coach Robichaux, who passed away in 2019, led the Ragin’ Cajuns to multiple NCAA tournaments and is remembered for his focus on developing players as leaders both on and off the field.
