Umari Hatcher leads Syracuse to season opening victory over New Hampshire

Syracuse wide receiver Umari Hatcher recorded career highs in receiving yards and touchdowns during the Orange's 66-3 victory over the New Hampshire Wildcats on September 5, 2026. Playing at the JMA Wireless Dome, Hatcher caught eight passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns in his first game back from a season-long injury. The effort accounted for more than half of the 275 passing yards generated by quarterback Steve Angeli. Hatcher, who briefly entered the transfer portal last December before returning to the program, emerged as the primary target for an offense replacing its top two receivers from the previous season.
