The University of North Alabama debuted new TenCate turf at Bank Independent Stadium on September 16, 2026. Athletic director Josh Looney highlighted that the turf mimics natural grass and reduces the risk of non-contact injuries. The new surface, installed without infill pellets, was developed in collaboration with local CEO Joe Fields. Upgrades to the stadium also include new seating options and special events like a pyrotechnics show for this Saturday's game. Work on the stadium's enhancements continues ahead of the season opener.
