The North Carolina Tar Heels enter the 2026 season ranked 75th in the country by The Athletic. After a disappointing 2025 campaign resulting in a 4-8 record, head coach Bill Belichick has made changes to his staff, hiring Bobby Petrino as offensive coordinator. Quarterback Billy Edwards Jr., a transfer, is set to start after a successful season at Maryland. Running back Demon June will also need to improve following a modest freshman year. Carolina aims for a strong showing against TCU this Saturday.
