The University of Arkansas is preparing for high temperatures during its Week 1 football game against North Alabama at Razorback Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 5. Forecasts indicate the temperature will reach 99 degrees for the 3:15 p.m. kickoff. Coach Ryan Silverfield stated that the team’s fall camp, which featured practices in similar heat, served as preparation for the upcoming conditions. To assist fans during the game, the university will increase the presence of emergency medical technicians and provide cooling stations. Additionally, staff will distribute water at aid stations, and the stadium will feature water-filling locations throughout the venue. Spectators are permitted to bring clear, plastic empty water bottles to use at these stations. Other programs within the SEC, including Georgia and South Carolina, are also preparing for games in 100-degree heat this weekend.
