University of Florida plans new golf course and team facility in Gainesville

The University of Florida announced plans for a new golf course and team facility in Gainesville, designed by architects Beau Welling and Steve Smyers. The Evans University of Florida Golf Club will include an 18-hole championship course and a performance center named the Power Design Team House. The initiative is funded by a significant donation from Ed Evans, CEO of Consumer Cellular, along with support from Power Design. This project aims to enhance resources for the Gators' men's and women's golf teams, which are currently ranked No. 1 and No. 7, respectively, in the 2026-27 Golfweek preseason rankings. The timeline for the club’s completion has not been disclosed.
