University of Iowa names Kinnick Stadium radio booth for Gary Dolphin

The University of Iowa announced plans to dedicate the radio broadcast booth at Kinnick Stadium to longtime play-by-play announcer Gary Dolphin. The news was shared by head football coach Kirk Ferentz during a weekly radio appearance. Dolphin has served as the voice of Iowa football and men's basketball for three decades, earning recognition for his service to the university and its athletic programs. Athletics director Beth Goetz credited Dolphin for his role as an ambassador and his impact on generations of fans. This permanent honor follows a similar recognition Dolphin received at the Field of Dreams ballpark in Dyersville. The announcer is scheduled to call the upcoming season opener against Northern Illinois at Kinnick Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 5.
