University of Memphis players drafted by the Lakers over the years

The University of Memphis has seen four players drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers throughout its history. John Wallisa was selected in the 17th round of the 1952 draft, despite not playing in the NBA. Wayne Yates was the No. 5 pick in the 1961 draft, appearing in 37 games during his rookie season. Larry Finch, drafted in the fourth round in 1973, had a successful college career and later became the Tigers' head coach. Andre Turner, picked in the third round in 1986, played six seasons in the NBA after being waived by the Lakers.
