University of New Hampshire defeats Stonehill in Sean Goldrich's first victory

The University of New Hampshire football team earned a 42-35 victory over Stonehill College on Saturday, Sept. 12, at Wildcat Stadium in Durham. The result marks the first career win for Sean Goldrich in his tenure as head coach. Running back Joquez Smith led the offensive effort with 122 rushing yards and three touchdowns, including a 3-yard score that gave the Wildcats a 42-28 lead in the fourth quarter. Wide receiver Ryan Ricketti opened the scoring with a 96-yard kickoff return, while linebacker Trevor Barry contributed a 71-yard touchdown on a blocked field goal return. Stonehill quarterback Jack O'Connell accounted for 380 passing yards and four touchdowns in the loss. The Wildcats move forward following this non-conference win as the season progresses.
