Urbana and Armstrong-Potomac secure program firsts in Wednesday prep competition

Urbana secured its first home victory in program history at McKinley Field on Wednesday, aided by a 55-yard touchdown rush. In golf action, Armstrong-Potomac recorded its best-ever team score in a 158-161 win over Iroquois West, with medalist honors going to the team's top performer. Elsewhere, Danville handed Westville its first loss of the season via a scorecard playoff after both teams finished with 159 at Harrison Park Golf Course. St. Joseph-Ogden defeated Oakwood in volleyball with a 25-20, 25-23 sweep in nonconference play. Additionally, the Mahomet-Seymour golf team took the Champaign/Piatt County Tournament title in a scorecard playoff against Monticello after both finished tied at 352. Champaign Central also logged a one-goal victory against Uni High in nonconference soccer.
