URI football faces injuries and depth chart decisions ahead of season opener

The University of Rhode Island football team is navigating injuries and backup quarterback competition as the season opener approaches on Aug. 28. QB Devin Farrell is recovering from offseason surgery and did not participate in live drills during the recent scrimmage. Tyler Budge and Alex McClelland split snaps in his absence, with Budge appearing to lead the competition for the backup job.
