Uros Medic criticizes Ian Machado Garry's comments on women's leadership
Summary

Uros Medic has responded critically to Ian Machado Garry's assertion that the world would be better if run by women. In an interview, Garry emphasized the positive influence of women, particularly referencing his wife. Medic, set to fight Daniel Rodriguez at UFC Belgrade, argued that Garry's opinion is personal and should not apply universally, claiming that men have built the world and maintain freedoms. Meanwhile, Garry is preparing for a title challenge against Islam Makhachev at UFC 330. Medic predicts that Makhachev will finish Garry within three rounds.

DOHA, QATAR - NOVEMBER 22: Ian Machado Garry of Ireland prepares to face Belal Muhammad in a welterweight fight during the UFC Fight Night event at ABHA Arena on November 22, 2025 in Doha, Qatar. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) Uros Medic disagrees with Ian Machado Garry, and believes the upcoming welterweight title challenger will have a long night at the office. For Medic, he’s set to face Daniel Rodriguez in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Belgrade card. Two weeks later, Garry challenges Islam Makhachev for the welterweight title in the headliner of UFC 330 in Philadelphia. Garry recently did an interview with High Performance and said that world would be a better place if it were run by women, mostly shouting out his wife and her influence on him. “If the world was run by women, we’d all live in a better world,” Machado Garry said. “It would all be simpler and easier. That’s the fact of the matter—whether you want to agree with it or not. If women ruled the world, and we just listened to them and let them take over, it would be an easier world.” When asked his opinion on the Makhachev vs. Garry fight, Medic turned his attention to Garry’s comments. “Obviously he’s been very vocal lately about women running the world, and I just had a message for him,” Medic told MMA Fighting. “Just because his woman is running his world, it doesn’t mean that women should run all the world, because men built the world. They’ve gave the rights to women, and they maintain the safety and freedom [of] everybody. “So if he wants to have his world ran by women, I have no problem with that. Just don’t try to impose none of that bullshit on me.” Makhachev defends his second divisional title for the first time since dominating Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322 this past November to win the belt. The top pound-for-pound fighter in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings has won 16 fights in a row, including four title defenses as lightweight champ. It’s Makhachev’s domination and style that leads Medic to believe it will be a great night for the Khabib Nurmagomedov-trained fighter. “I think Islam Mahachev will finish Ian Garry in less than three rounds,” Medic said. “It’ll be interesting to watch for sure. Ian is lanky, and he’s the type of fighter that runs and tries to score points, and then gets a split decision somehow.”
