U.S. Walker Cup team announced with Jay Leng Jr. selected

The U.S. Walker Cup team has been finalized ahead of the competition against Great Britain and Ireland on September 5-6 at Lahinch Golf Club in Ireland. Jay Leng Jr., who finished as the runner-up at the U.S. Amateur, earned a spot on the team following his impressive performance at Merion. Leng's inclusion joins three automatic selections and other recently named players, resulting in seven of the top ten ranked amateur golfers on the U.S. team. The selection follows Leng's loss to Jack Whaley in the final match, but his prior achievements secured his position on the squad. The remaining team members include Miles Russell, Stewart Hagestad, William Jennings, Josiah Gilbert, and Kihei Akina, with alternates Logan Reilly and Max Herendeen.
