USA faces Italy in FIBA Women's World Cup group stage play

The USA basketball team continues its title defense at the FIBA Women's World Cup with a group stage match against Italy on Sunday, Sept. 6. The USA enters the contest after a 94-61 victory against China in their opening game, during which Paige Bueckers, Rhyne Howard, and Caitlyn Clark each recorded 14 points. Italy also holds a 1-0 record following a 63-54 win over Czechia, led by 19 points from Cecilia Zandalasini.
