USA Network and Fandango secure Bundesliga broadcasting rights

USA Network and Fandango have acquired the rights to air Bundesliga matches in the U.S. for $20 million annually. The deal will span five years, bringing the total to $100 million. This marks a shift from ESPN, which had previously aired the league, earning $30 million a year. Under the new agreement, USA Network will broadcast at least 30 matches, while additional games will be available for free on Fandango’s platform. The Bundesliga aims to broaden its audience despite experiencing a revenue decrease. The Premier League television rights are set to come to market soon as NBC Universal’s contract nears its expiration.
