USC pays Lincoln Riley nearly $12 million in disappointing 2024 season

USC football coach Lincoln Riley received over $11.8 million in total compensation during the 2024 fiscal year, despite a 7-6 record, his worst as a head coach. Riley's base salary of $10.4 million ranks among the highest in college football, just behind coaches like Kirby Smart and Dabo Swinney. Meanwhile, USC also invested over $6.1 million to hire basketball coach Eric Musselman after Andy Enfield's departure. Musselman received around $5.1 million from the school but did not achieve success, finishing the season with a 17-18 record and a 7-13 mark in Big Ten play.
