USC's Mason Edwards named first-team All-American in college baseball

USC pitcher Mason Edwards has been honored as a first-team All-American by the NCBWA. Edwards, who recorded a perfect season with an 8-0 record and a 2.07 ERA, also struck out 169 batters this year, the highest total by a USC pitcher since Mark Prior in 2001. This recognition makes him the first Trojan to achieve first-team All-American status in 11 years, with the previous recipient being Garrett Stubbs in 2015. Additionally, teammate Grant Govel earned second-team All-American honors. Both players are anticipated to be prominent prospects in this summer's MLB Draft.
