Utah inducts Eric Weddle into the university Ring of Honor

The University of Utah will induct former star safety Eric Weddle into its Ring of Honor this Saturday. The ceremony is scheduled to take place at halftime of the team's game against Arkansas at Rice-Eccles Stadium. Weddle, who played four seasons at Utah and later spent 14 years in the NFL, qualifies for the honor through his status as a consensus All-American and his contributions to the program. He was a key member of the 2004 team that finished undefeated and served as a standout defender during his collegiate career. The inductee is the second of former teammate Morgan Scalley’s colleagues to be added to the Ring of Honor. He joins Alex Smith, Roy Jefferson, and Ron McBride as those enshrined at the venue.
