Utah Mammoth seek candidates to fill open alternate captain role

The Utah Mammoth enter the new season with an opening in their leadership group following the departures of Alexander Kerfoot and Ian Cole. Alexander Kerfoot, who split alternate captain duties with Mikhail Sergachev last season, signed with the Nashville Predators, while Ian Cole joined the Chicago Blackhawks. Clayton Keller remains the team captain and Lawson Crouse continues as associate captain. Coach André Tourigny may opt to add a fourth player to the group to rotate the third letter alongside Sergachev. Potential candidates include Nick Schmaltz, who served as an alternate captain during the team's inaugural game, as well as recent free agent arrival Anders Lee. The organization could also designate Logan Cooley as a leader to help integrate younger prospects into the roster.
