Utah State University announced the football stadium in Logan will be renamed from Maverik Stadium to Jim Laub Family Stadium. The change takes effect January 1, 2027. This decision honors Jim Laub, a 1974 university graduate and longtime athletics donor who served as CEO of Cache Valley Electric. The transition concludes a naming rights partnership with Maverik that began in 2015. While the venue name will change, the playing surface will retain the name Merlin Olsen Field. The facility was previously known as Romney Stadium before the Maverik agreement.

- 10:39 PMYahoo Sports — A college football stadium in Utah is getting renamed. Here’s why it’s significant
"A generation or two ago, it was extremely common to see university sports stadiums and arenas named after notable people in the university community — often major donors. In that respect, it was significant Monday when Utah State University announced that effective Jan. 1 of next year, the campus football stadium will be renamed from Maverik Stadium to Jim Laub Family Stadium in recognition of the Aggies’ most notable booster. “Jim and Carol have been instrumental in supporting Utah State throughout the years and have a clear vision for where Aggie Athletics can go, while helping our university make an impact on the national stage,” Utah State athletic director Cameron Walker said in a statement.
