UTEP volleyball extended its winning streak to seven matches after defeating UC San Diego on Saturday at Club Memorial in El Paso. The Miners claimed the Borderland Classic title with a 3-1 victory, finishing the tournament undefeated. UTEP secured the win in sets of 25-19, 25-21, 22-25, and 25-20. Luvina Oguntimehin led all players with 14 kills and added seven total blocks to pace the Miners' performance. The team improved its season record to 7-1, while UC San Diego fell to 2-6. Head coach Ben Wallis noted that his team adjusted to the Tritons' speed throughout the four sets, eventually gaining control through improved attacking and service pressure.
