Valencia announced the immediate termination of manager Carlos Corberán and CEO of Football Ron Gourlay on Sunday. The move follows a poor start to the current campaign, which saw the team fall to the bottom of the La Liga table after four consecutive defeats. Most recently, the club suffered a 1-0 loss against Sevilla on Friday. The dismissals include members of the CEO’s administrative team, specifically Lisandro Isei, Hans Gillhaus, Andrés Zamora, and Malek Shafei, alongside Corberán’s first-team coaching staff. Valencia stated the decision is part of a plan to initiate a new phase in the club's sporting structure and management. Óscar Sánchez, who manages VCF Mestalla, will assume control of the first team on a provisional basis while the organization configures its next sporting project.
