Valencia pursue Ernesto Valverde as new manager following staff dismissals

Valencia has initiated a major leadership overhaul following a winless five-game start to the LaLiga season. The club board terminated the contracts of manager Carlos Corberán and CEO Ron Gourlay along with their respective staff members on Sunday. Peter Lim subsequently appointed Braulio Vázquez as the new sporting director after securing him from Osasuna. Reports indicate that Vázquez has identified Ernesto Valverde as his priority candidate to lead the team for the remainder of the season. Valverde has been without a managerial role since departing Athletic Club this summer. Valencia currently sits at the bottom of the league table following the team's poor performance to open the campaign.
