Valtteri Filppula joins the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame

Valtteri Filppula was officially inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame this Saturday. The announcement follows a professional career highlighted by a Stanley Cup championship with the Detroit Red Wings in 2008. Filppula is a member of the Triple Gold Club, having won a Stanley Cup, an Olympic gold medal, and an IIHF World Championship. He served as team captain for the Finnish squad during their 2022 Olympic and World Championship victories. Additionally, he remains the only player in hockey history to hold those honors while also securing a European Champions League title, which he won with Servette Geneva in 2024. Filppula concluded his NHL career after playing two final seasons for the Detroit Red Wings.
