Vancouver Canucks select Caleb Malhotra third overall in NHL Draft

The Vancouver Canucks have selected Caleb Malhotra with the third overall pick in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft. Malhotra is a center who played for the Brantford Bulldogs in the OHL last season, notching 29 goals and 55 assists in 67 games. He also had a strong playoff showing, finishing among the league leaders with 26 points in 15 games. His selection comes after the Toronto Maple Leafs chose Gavin McKenna first and the San Jose Sharks selected Ivar Stenberg second. Malhotra is the son of Vancouver’s new head coach Manny Malhotra, and both have vowed to maintain professionalism in their roles. The Canucks still have one more pick to make in the first round, with their next selection at 24th overall.
