Vanderbilt soccer hosts Black-Gold scrimmage to begin preseason

Vanderbilt soccer is set to hold its annual Black vs Gold scrimmage on August 1, 2026, at 6 PM Central at the Vanderbilt Soccer/Lacrosse Complex. This preseason event, previously closed to the public, will feature various competitions including an intrasquad match. The scrimmage represents a unique opportunity for fans to see the team without purchasing tickets, as soccer has become a ticketed sport in 2026. The Commodores return many key players, including SEC Forward of the Year Sydney Watts and various All-SEC selections. The competition for the goalkeeper position remains uncertain following the departure of Sara Wojdelko, with several players vying for the role.
