Vanity Project, Dar & Moreno advance in Dusty Rhodes Classic

"

The quarterfinals of this year’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic got underway on this week’s episode of NXT television with two matchups that looked like they had clear winners going in. Up first, The Vanity Project’s Swipe Right, who had a first round bye, took on Chazz “Starboy” Hall of WWE’s ID program and Mini Vikingo of AAA. Baylor & Smokes won the match, of course, but Starboy and Vikingo made their most of their minutes and are already getting booked to work next week’s show. Later in the show, one of the greatest teams in NXT history — I think that’s fair to say at this point, right? — Fraxiom went head on against the hard charging Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno. Wouldn’t you know it, Dar & Moreno shocked the world again, doing what they had to do to score the pinfall victory. That sets up the first of two semifinals matches: Vanity Project vs. Noam Dar & Romeo Moreno. The other side of the bracket will figure itself out next week. Like how it’s shaping up?
