Venus Williams prepares for US Open and announces coaching partnership

Venus Williams returns to Arthur Ashe Stadium for the 2026 US Open, where she is scheduled to face Sofia Kenin in the first round. The 46-year-old athlete enters the tournament as a wild card entry but has struggled to secure a singles match victory throughout the 2026 season. Beyond her court performance, Williams has announced a new partnership with Ezra Coaching to provide free career development resources to early-career professionals. Despite health challenges and a long hiatus in 2024, Williams remains active in the sport with the encouragement of her husband, Andrea Preti. In addition to her singles match, she is set to compete in women’s doubles alongside her sister, Serena Williams. The pair previously won the doubles title at the US Open in 1999 and 2009.
