Boy, was it harsh. Right after Boots’ win, Ortiz would declare that he would assuredly knock Boots out whenever they meet, and also derided Zayas in the process for what he called a quit job after getting dropped for the three times in the fight. “Yea, I’m sleeping Jaron,” Ortiz began with a post on X before rattling off a series more. “If I get him like that I promise you I get him out of there. “Xander you looked straight to your corner after you got dropped that last time. In fact, Ortiz was originally meant to be the opponent for this very fight, but that couldn’t happen because of his promotional dispute. Recent interviews have quoted Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya saying things have been moving in a positive direction lately though, and he expects Ortiz to be back in the ring before the year is out.
