VfB Stuttgart winger Lazar Jovanovic joins Serie A club Udinese

VfB Stuttgart confirmed on Tuesday that winger Lazar Jovanovic has transferred to Udinese on a permanent deal. The 19-year-old moves to the Serie A side just over a year after joining the Bundesliga club from Crvena Zvezda. Stuttgart board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth cited fierce competition within the squad as a primary factor in the decision to facilitate the move. According to the club, the transfer is intended to provide the youngster with more playing time that would have been difficult to secure in Stuttgart. Jovanovic departs the German club having recorded six competitive appearances during his tenure. The winger previously featured for the Bundesliga side in several friendly matches during the recent pre-season period.
