During a press conference on August 12, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio described quarterback Jalen Hurts as noticeably faster in practices this summer. Fangio has been assessing Hurts' performance over several years and noted improvements in Hurts' agility, particularly in the context of the new offensive scheme implemented by offensive coordinator Sean Mannion. Defensive tackle Jalen Carter echoed Fangio's observations, highlighting how Hurts appears to accelerate during plays. Hurts, who recorded 421 rushing yards last season, has reportedly been running more frequently in practice, signaling potential increases in his rushing statistics this season.
- •Fangio described Hurts as having a good camp and looking faster.
- •Carter affirmed Hurts' speed in practice, recalling chasing him down.
- •Hurts had his lowest rushing output last season, totaling 421 yards.
