Victor Wembanyama is set to be NBA 2K27 cover athlete

Summary

Victor Wembanyama will reportedly be revealed as the cover athlete for NBA 2K27, as confirmed by ESPN’s Shams Charania. This marks the first time a San Antonio Spurs player has graced the cover of the game since its launch in 1999. Wembanyama, in his third NBA season, previously won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2024 and the Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2026. His average of 25 points per game this past season ranked 13th in the league. The announcement comes following the Spurs' loss to the New York Knicks in the NBA Finals last month, where Wembanyama faced criticism despite his strong performance.
