Victor Wembanyama laughs off heckles at New York fan fest

At the Fanatics Fest in New York, Victor Wembanyama faced heckling from fans who reminded him of the San Antonio Spurs' loss in the 2026 NBA Finals against the New York Knicks. A fan shouted, 'Jalen Brunson is your dad,' referencing the Knicks' Finals MVP, Jalen Brunson, who outperformed Wembanyama in the series. Despite the taunts, Wembanyama took the heckling in stride, laughing off the comments. The Spurs had a disappointing Finals, dropping the series in five games, which continues to impact Wembanyama's public reception even weeks later.
