Vikings coach O’Connell faces scrutiny as playoffs loom

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell is under pressure as the team enters its fifth season with him in charge. The Vikings made the playoffs in 2022 and 2024 but missed out in 2023 and 2025. This offseason, the Vikings added former Seahawks executive Nolan Teasley to the front office, following the firing of Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. A recent SB Nation Reacts survey indicates that if the Vikings do not make the playoffs this season, O’Connell’s job could be at risk.
