The Minnesota Vikings are navigating a challenging quarterback situation during their 2026 training camp in Eagan, Minnesota. Kyler Murray and J.J. McCarthy have underperformed, drawing concerns about their ability to compete against NFC North foes like Jordan Love and Jared Goff. While both quarterbacks are receiving ample first-team reps, neither has established a clear edge. On a positive note, several players are emerging as camp standouts, including cornerback Charles Demmings and linebacker Jake Golday. The Vikings will participate in joint practices with the Baltimore Ravens and face the New York Giants in their first preseason game.
- •Murray and McCarthy have been deemed 'just fine' by analysts.
- •Charles Demmings is making significant plays in camp.
- •Jake Golday is earning snaps as a linebacker under Brian Flores.
- •Compensatory pick potential exists if Murray excels and signs elsewhere.
- •The Vikings' first preseason game is against the Giants.
