Vikings linked to running back Kewan Lacy in 2027 mock draft

The Minnesota Vikings are projected to target running back depth in the upcoming 2027 NFL Draft. A recent mock draft from USA Today suggests the team may select Ole Miss running back Kewan Lacy in the first round. Analysis indicates the team requires greater explosiveness at the position than currently provided by Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones Sr. While Minnesota has adjusted its offensive scheme to emphasize the run, the current backfield rotation lacks the long-term potential of younger prospects. With the 2027 draft class considered deep at running back, the organization maintains options to address the position through various rounds. The selection remains speculative as the draft is scheduled to take place in Washington, D.C. next year.
