Vikings promote Johnny Hekker for game against Dolphins on Sunday

The Minnesota Vikings have elevated punter Johnny Hekker from their practice squad ahead of their game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Hekker will take on punting and holding duties again, as Brett Thorson is sidelined with a hamstring injury. This marks Hekker's first elevation from the practice squad this season. In last week's game, he averaged 46.5 yards per punt and successfully held for all field goal attempts. The team has not updated Thorson's injury status, and Hekker will provide a reliable option as depth for the special teams unit.
