Vince McMahon's sex trafficking case nears resolution amid speculation on return

Janel Grant’s sex trafficking lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon is on the verge of ending. Post Wrestling reports that the legal teams for all three parties filed today to voluntarily dismiss the lawsuit with prejudice. This step was widely expected when news recently broke that all parties agreed to settle the issue in private arbitration. That’s where the matter is heading next, assuming the judge approves this request. At that point, it’s just a matter of privately figuring out financial terms to resolve the situation. Grant’s lawsuit led to McMahon resigning from TKO in disgrace in January 2024. It’s the main reason why Vince has remained on the sidelines of pro wrestling for the last two and a half years. But now that it is ending, there is a ton of speculation about what the soon to be 81-year-old McMahon’s next move will be. Jim Ross knows McMahon better than most. On the latest episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross said he now expects McMahon to get back into the wrestling business. “Well, he ain’t out of the game. Vince isn’t out of the game. It’s just not his make up. …The world is open to him. It just doesn’t seem like a lot of things interest him. He likes wrestling, and I think that’s where I see him headed.” Vince is even richer now than he was when he resigned his position as TKO Executive Chairman, because he sold off hundreds of millions of dollars of TKO stock after his exit. Ross expects that McMahon wants to run a pro wrestling company and has the money to make it happen, even if that means purchasing an existing company like TNA. He’s gonna want to steer his own ship, build his own boat, and take it from there. …It’s possible [that Vince buys TNA or another organization]. Yeah of course, it’s possible. Money won’t be an object. He’s got the cash to do whatever the hell he wants, at least that’s what I think. But I can’t see him migrating too far from the barn where all the animals are. That would be my guess. That’s all it is, is a guess, that he would be doing something that allows him to display his product knowledge. And god almighty he’s got plenty of product knowledge. He should be fine. Now that the sex trafficking lawsuit against him is going away, do you expect Vince McMahon to spend a shitload of money to buy his way back into the wrestling business?
