Vinnie Pasquantino and Salvador Perez lead Kansas City Royals over Toronto Blue Jays

The Kansas City Royals defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1 on Sunday at Kauffman Stadium to avoid a series sweep. Vinnie Pasquantino provided an early lead with a three-run home run in the first inning, his 11th of the season. Salvador Perez added to the lead in the third inning with a two-run home run, his 19th of the year. Starting pitcher Randy Dobnak worked six innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out three batters. A scoreless effort from the bullpen duo of Anthony Gose, Jose Cuas, Connor Thomas, and Nolan Hoffman preserved the victory. The Royals now hold a 64-80 record on the season and prepare for a three-game series against the Diamondbacks starting tomorrow afternoon.
