Virgil van Dijk urges Liverpool to keep Cody Gakpo despite transfer interest

Virgil van Dijk has publicly asked Liverpool's hierarchy to retain Cody Gakpo, who may join Manchester City before the summer transfer window closes. The Dutch winger has performed well, contributing a goal and an assist in the first two matches of the season. Despite interest from Manchester City and a reported £85 million bid, Van Dijk emphasized Gakpo's importance as both a player and a friend. Discussions around Gakpo's potential exit are ongoing, with speculation about the possible arrival of Bradley Barcola at Liverpool also emerging.
